Emily joined Ashoka Arab World in May 2007. Emily is responsible for Ashoka Arab World's development and marketing programs. In this capacity, she works closely with the Regional Director to leverage support for the expansion of Ashoka initiatives across the region. She is also finding ways to more effectively and creatively communicate with potential donors and collaborators, and the entire Ashoka community. Prior to her work with Ashoka, Emily lived in Madrid, Spain, where she worked for Public Administration Strategy Solutions (PASS), a consulting firm with an international client base representing the government, private, and non-profit sectors. She grew up in Florida and attended Tufts University, where she earned her B.A. in international relations in 2006. Interested in culture, language, and politics from a young age, Emily sought exposure to global challenges through internships with the Regional UN Information Center in Brussels and UNICEF offices in Boston and Alcalá de Henares, Spain. She considers an undergraduate research trip to Turkey a defining experience, as it provided her first-hand exposure to the critical issues at the intersection of culture, identity, and politics and crystallized her desire to work in international development and human rights.
